Time Trials this year will be on Tuesday, May 22nd.
Swimmers need to be at the pool, in a suit with cap (optional for boys/younger swimmers) and googles, ready to go at 3:45. The volunteer shifts and the meet start at 4pm.
Time trials work very similarly to a normal meet and allow us to gage the starting point of all swimmers, have entry times for the first meet, and seed relays. Because the goal is to enter swimmers in the best possible position for the first meet, we ask that they swim every stroke their age group competes in. Every swimmer is automatically entered in every event for their age group and is required to be there unless they have spoken to the coaches. "Every event" means the shortest distance of a stroke that is swum in a regular meet:
6&unders will swim 25 free and 25 back.
7-8s will swim 25 free, 25 back, 25 breast, and 25 fly.
9-10s will swim 50 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 free.
11&ups will swim 50 free, 100 back, 100 breast, and 100 fly.
We will not be swimming IMs.
Splashers do not participate in time trials because they have their own meets throughout the season.
Remember, the goal is just to reduce confusion at the first meet and put out the best relays possible. Time trials should be a fun, low stress meet that helps the swimmers practice for later in the season.
